WellSpace Nexus is a non-profit organization that partners with healthcare providers, federally qualified health centers, health plans, and independent physician associations to increase access to healthcare, enhancing the patient experience, and improving health outcomes, for patients who are covered by Medi-Cal and those who remain uninsured. WellSpace Nexus is an affiliate of WellSpace Health.
Medi-Cal patients have historically lacked a clinically integrated network that met their unique healthcare needs outside of the primary care setting. Specifically, Medi-Cal patients struggle to access specialty care, access care through health systems, lack support and outreach, and face excessive medical utilization review.
WellSpace Health has developed a clinically integrated solution for Medi-Cal patients through a non-profit risk bearing organization (RBO). The non-profit RBO creates a “nexus” of care that benefits both patients and providers by facilitating innovative partnerships between the two. WellSpace Nexus will focus on direct-to-patient care innovation that reduces provider and patient burdens by simplifying the system and driving higher quality outcomes.
More simply put, WellSpace Nexus can invest in patients rather than profits.
